My baking has an emphasis on using local and seasonal ingredients. I also use foraged, fair trade, organic, homegrown and homemade ingredients too. I make my own preserves to use in my bakes. I specialise in buttercream cakes. I also mainly use natural colourings and flavorings such as vegetable and fruit powders and liquid food colourings using extracts of natural ingredients. I like to add colour through natural ingredients such as fruit, edible flowers, vegetables.
I use a range of local ingredients including flour from Mungoswell Malt amd Mill, organic and/or eggs, fairtrade sugars, Scottish butters. I also use a range of chocolate products from the local Chocolate Tree, which are organic and fairtrade products. I source fruit, veg, herbs and edible flowers from a number of local sources and try to get Scottish products as much as I can, at least British products. There is an amazing number of products grown locally. If you would like some sweet treats for a celebration I can offer a range of things. From a large round sponge cake, to smaller individual pieces of cupcakes, bite size meringue kisses, marshmallows, macarons, brownies. For something a bit more informal I can provide a range of loaf cakes such as a banana loaf, vegan banana loaf. Please see my gallery for the types of bakes I make
I have baked for numerous occasions including adults and kids birthdays, a wedding, to celebrate a switch of career to name a few.
