I am a passionate self-taught home baker, and cook. I bake in my wee kitchen at home in East Lothian.
I have worked as a cook in a nursery cooking healthy wholesome food for the kids. I also enjoy getting out into the great outdoors
Ever since I can remember I have always loved food and cooking, especially baking. For me, there is something innate about making and sharing food with folk whether it be for special occasions or just at daily meal times, even foraging in the hedgerows and sharing a few blackberries gives me a deep sense of fulfilment.
My first real passion is eating seasonal; cooking or baking something up from scratch when the ingredients are at their best is just so satisfying. I love eating local too, and hunting out quality small scale producers and their wares whether it be local or national in origin. I love sitting down with my food haul, leafing through my cookery books, notebooks, other food blogs, and reminiscing about past food experiences to decide on what to make next.
I love trying out new places to eat but I equally also love retreating to my favourite food haunts too! I love anything from foraged foods to fine dining, and have a penchant for beetroot and communal dining.
